The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is an independent authority handling criminal prosecutions in Victoria for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). It prosecutes serious crimes and cases vital to the justice system. The OPP includes the Solicitor for Public Prosecutions and around 500 staff supporting the DPP, Chief Crown Prosecutor, and Crown Prosecutors.
